View of 11 men sitting on a sled on snow being pulled by a horse at the corner of 4th Street and Lincoln Avenue in Loveland. A building is visible behind them. The photograph is attached to a card that has a typed note attached to it below the image. The typed note reads, "In the Good Old Days. Just an old ladder but it made a good sled. The gang is as follows from front to back: ‘Jug’ Riley, George Riley, Andy Rose, Peep Youtsey, Jake Wolaver, Charles Cook, Dave Krouskop, Clayton Mulvaney, George Stoddard, Ben Quigley, E. Greer. Picture taken in about 1899. Looking south-west. The bit building was the Ferguson-Scott Hardware Store. The church was the old Presbyterian that set on the corner of Fourth and Lincoln. Property of Floyd Wolaver. Framed by Harold M. Dunning. 2-3-40 For Pioneer Museum." Written along the bottom in pencil, "357." |
